Victoria Cusumano, Therapy Practicum Placement, Doctoral Candidatey
Victoria Cusumano is a student in the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY. She is currently in her third year of the program and is being supervised by Dr. Jean Dennis. As a student clinician, Ms. Cusumano prioritizes warmth, genuine empathy, and unconditional positive regard for her clients. She believes in taking a client-centred, integrative approach that allows for those she works with to feel they are the primary drivers of their personal exploration and growth. She highly appreciates the importance of making a connection with those she works with, ensuring they feel supported through transparent, genuine, and individualized collaboration to meet their therapeutic goals.
Ms. Cusumano has previous experience conducting psychodiagnostic and ADHD focused assessments for young adults and adults for the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships. Ms. Cusumano is also an Ontario certified elementary school teacher and has worked with the Peel District School Board. Many of her previous research, personal, and recreational experiences also include working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their caregivers.
