Jennifer Cain – Psychotherapy Placement Student
Ms. Jennifer Cain (she/her) is a student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University and she is completing her therapy placement at Hillcrest under the supervision of Dr. Jean Dennis, Clinical Psychologist. Ms. Cain is also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Ms. Cain is offering counselling with children, adolescents, and adults. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, burned out, or unsure how to support your child, Ms. Cain supports people who are trying to make sense of what’s going on and take steps in a better direction.
Her approach is practical and shaped by what matters to the client, and she does not use a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, she draws from proven approaches like Cognitive Therapies, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and play-based techniques, using tools that help people name what they are feeling, understand their reactions, and respond in ways that match their goals and values. With children, she utilizes play-based strategies to help them explore their feelings and build healthy skills in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
Clients often report that they feel grounded and understood and that they start to feel a bit more like themselves again. Ms. Cain offers both in-person and virtual sessions. If you’re looking for support and think you might be a good fit, please contact the office to schedule a time to speak with Ms. Cain.
