Jarrett Young – Psychotherapy Placement Student 

Jarrett Young (he/him) is a student in the Master of Counselling program City University and is completing his therapy placement under the supervision of Dr. Jean Dennis, Clinical Psychologist. Jarrett brings life experience from a different field outside of therapy, within the construction industry and skilled trades. Now, as a student practitioner, Jarrett brings this perspective into his work by meeting clients where they are with openness, curiosity, kindness, and care.

Jarrett believes therapy is a collaborative process built on trust and respect. His goal is to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can share their stories, explore challenges, and discover new ways of moving forward. He values creating a compassionate therapeutic relationship that honors each person’s lived experience, with the belief that meaningful change is possible when people feel supported and understood. Jarrett’s areas of interest include stress, anxiety, depression, grief, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and life transitions. He is available to work with clients from ages 10-65.
