Emily Lohnes, Doctoral Therapy Practicum Student
Ms. Emily Lohnes is a student in the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY. She is currently in her third year of the program and is being supervised by Dr. Jean Dennis. Ms. Lohnes has experience completing psychological and psychoeducational assessments with children, adolescents, and young adults in private practice and at the local school board. She also has experience with providing therapeutic interventions with children with various concerns, including, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and other mood/behavioural concerns.
She provides an integrative approach to treatment, that includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and applies a client-centered approach for treatment for individuals with anxiety, mood disorders, low self-esteem, ADHD, and trauma. As a student, Emily is interested in many areas and wants to provide her clients with a safe and productive environment to suit their goals in treatment. Emily is passionate about learning as much as she can within the field of psychology in order to provide her clients with the best care possible.
